Mingus on Mingus is a documentary of a grandson discovering the truths behind the legend of the grandfather he never knew. Known to the world as a composer who left one of the largest musical legacies of the 20th century, the film highlights the voices of the people he touched and the places he lived. While following the search for a grandfather and a true jazz legend, we rediscover both, the man and the artist: Charles Mingus.

Just a quick note to say how very happy I am to announce that some good friends of ours here at the Killer Groove Music Library are launching a fund-raising campaign today for their project "Mingus on Mingus".

They have a big challenge ahead of them and would like to get as much help and support as we can generate. A successful campaign means they can move forward with the project and capture moments that might otherwise loose. The making of the documentary will be a long road but having the resources to begin their journey is all they can hope for. They know it will not be possible without help and they are all at your disposal for any questions or feedback you may have.

Their goal is to raise $45,000 in 40 days.
