never under estimate your digging skills KG - where did you find it?
Hi mate,
Yes, kept going till it turned up, somewhere on the bay I think, it was a while back now. Picked up the second the birthright Lp's at the same time, which reminds me I must dig it out and blog it.
KG
I track I had forgotten about.
Takes me back to taping Peterson & Forge off the radio on cassette back in the day!
Thanks for reminding me-look forward to hearing more Birthright soon please.

Hey Mr Obsessive,
Those were the days...Sony C90, TDK's and wire for aerials just to pick up a crackly reception of a dodgy pirate station to hear GP of Forge play all the tunes..I loved it so much..
This is still much the same I guess, just technology moved on, and you can't hear me..which aint no bad thing.
Thanks for all the support and another Birthright LP on the way.
KG
Yeah I was so "obsessed" I used to
drive up from Kent & park in a lay by just outside Lee Green & with my
girlfriends (now wife!!)ghetto blaster poke the aerial outside the window & tape all this fantastic music that GP used to play on Horizon Radio...he used to talk ever so posh then!! It must have been about 1983/4 & was a revelation to hear music harder than Robbie Vincents Jazz Funk Forty which was as good as it got on legal radio back then!

Oh now the memories really are coming back..we must have been doing the same gigs/things at the same time. Used to get to the clubs where RV, Bangsy, Chris Hill, Chris Brown etc used to play..the music just seemed to get better and better..there hasn't been a better time than those heady mid 80's sessions..
Just tryin' to keep it alive here at the library.

How about record shops back in the day??
For me it was City Sounds in High Holburn,Bluebird Records in Paddington,Flyover Records in Hammersmith & for a time Paul Murphy's Fusion Reords in Exmouth Market......
Great care free days!!! but not much money either!!!
Jazz Obsessive
Oh Man!! City Sounds..wow, loved that place. Bought my copy or Richie Cole - New York Afternoon there, and Bluebird, they used to stock some great jap imports and at about £15 - £20 each I could never quite afford them..Stepped up a gear when I found Murphy's shop in Soho The Record Shack, the likes of which will bever be seen again..
Keep it comin matey
